4 Tips to Overcome Fear for Success

Fear. It’s the one factor that stands between you and the future you desire to have. It seems like no matter what you do, thoughts of doubt and “what ifs” are always looming in the back of your mind. Well, the good news is you’re not alone because at some point or another, we have all fallen victim to fear and it’s nasty, crippling effects.

But the worst part about fear isn’t just how much it stops us from achieving our dreams and accomplishing our goals, it’s that we, unfortunately, give it so much power and belief until we feel it nearly impossible to overcome it. While it’s not as simple as snapping your fingers and your terror is suddenly defeated, there are a few things you can do to get past whatever you may be fearful of. Here are a few tips on conquering your fear so you can make room for success:

 

  1. Let go of limiting beliefs.

Most of the time, we’re quick to accept a negative ideal rather than a positive one. This is extremely unfortunate because it stops us from realizing just how much we’re truly capable of. This also causes us to “feed our fears” rather than diminish them, which only keeps us in an unhappy space. You must believe in your thoughts before you can act on them. Just as you may believe your business venture won’t be successful, you act on it by not attempting to give it a try at all. So, in order to get positive and satisfactory results that will lead you to your goals, you must change your way of thinking to suit your desired results. Instead of entertaining negative thoughts, focus on and fill your mind with positive thoughts. By doing so you’ll be letting go of limiting beliefs and negative thinking and opening your mind to a healthier &happier outlook.

 

  1. Ditch that negative inner voice.

 

Most of us have that inner voice that seems to get loud when we’re seeking to obtain a certain goal. It usually says things along the lines of “Oh it won’t work out” or “Why try? They won’t like it anyway.” It’s imperative that we ditch that inner voice and continue to move forward. When we listen to the negative noise, it only fuels our fears and breeds doubt. That, in turn, delays our success. Instead, create a positive inner dialogue. One that fills you with confidence and excitement about taking those next steps to get you where you want to go. Making a habit of doing so won’t happen overnight, but if you stick to making the change, you’re guaranteed to see much better outcomes. Not only for your ventures but also in other areas of your life.

 

 

  1. Stop internalizing negative feedback

When we have a great idea or are in pursuit of something that we know will take us to that next level, we always seek advice or opinions from others. These can be friends, family, colleagues, or anyone that we may feel we can talk to. While there’s nothing wrong with seeking opinions or advice, this often comes with the “price” of receiving negative feedback. This is also a very common way to develop a fear or fears when attempting to accomplish what you’ve set out to do. However, it’s vital to push those opposed views and opinions aside. Internalizing negative feedback will only stunt your personal growth and keep you further away from your goals. You should only take in the positive and utilize it to propel you in the direction you’ve set forth.

 

 

  1. Get confident

Developing confidence just may be the most important tip on overcoming fear and becoming successful. It takes confidence to believe in your vision or goals and more importantly, to act on them. When you lack confidence, you don’t have faith and you fail to believe in yourself and what you’re after. One great way to boost your confidence is by setting small goals and achieving them one by one. The more you set goals and attain them, the more confident and excited you will become to achieve the next. These steps all lead to bigger ones, and before you know it you will have begun to work towards your larger goals that seemed almost impossible at first.

 

 

In the end, fear is only a manifestation of thoughts or beliefs that we have given life. No matter how real they may seem, they are only as real as you make them. Decide to work towards overcoming your fears and allow yourself the life you truly deserve. Each of us has a purpose and each of us deserves a life filled with abundance, prosperity, and happiness. If success is what you truly desire, simply decide you will have it and do whatever needs to be done to get yourself to that place. Because at the end of the day, we’re all responsible for the happiness of that person looking back at us in the mirror.
